WHY NOT FORM YOUR OWN NON PROFIT NEIGHBORHOOD SOLAR PURCHASING GROUP ?
There's nothing wrong with organizing your neighbors and purchasing solar systems as a collective. Actually that's a great idea.
But involving a third party "for-profit" entity that doesn't allow its members to participate in the installer or product selection process and charges the chosen dealer a fee, now that's a whole different story.
If you're not guaranteed of getting the best price nor the highest performance equipment, then what's the sense of joining a collective that's run by a for-profit company ?
Somebody's got to pay that "for-profit" company's profits and in the end guess who that will be ?
Getting a great deal on a high performance solar system is not rocket science. There are basically eight criteria to consider when shopping for reliable, high performance solar equipment and the procedure for choosing an installation contractor is no different than the recommended criteria for choosing any contractor.
